Maybe you do or maybe you don't like writing. I get it, we are all different. But, I really, really hope you give this a try.

I recently had the honor of speaking at a women's retreat. I knew when I first received the invitation, that I wanted to gift each lady with a journal and the experience of reflection. The journals, which I hand-made, included a few questions to inspire and encourage.

Where did I get stuck in my life story?

How am I showing up in the world?

How do I want to show up in the world?

I spoke and then handed out the journals, allowing the group to have time to contemplate the above questions and more. I played soft worship music in the background to further align their time with this special opportunity.

It was powerful in many ways and a great reminder to me as to how powerful journaling/writing can be.In our fast-pace, technology-heavy world, we often neglect moments to reflect and listen to our own inner intuition and more importantly God's call on our souls.

If you have never journaled, don't worry, there is no wrong way to journal. Simply write what is on your mind. My journal very often ends up being a prayer of sorts. Sometimes my goals and ambitions end up on the pages. My worries, concerns, victories, gratitudes..yes and amen. It's all good!

Find an old notebook or journal or even better, buy a new one that makes you happy. A new pen, markers or even crayons adds to the experience. Get creative and have fun with this.

So, keep singing and dancing. Get out in the sunshine. Change your scenery AND take a moment to journal.
